Based on the 5E inquiry model, Math City is a virtual city where mathematics comes alive through play, exploration, and collaboration.
Unlike traditional educational gaming or virtual platforms, Math City blends game-based learning with the educational 5E inquiry model to create an immersive, engaging, and interactive learning experience for mathematics learning.

Aligned with the 5E inquiry model
The different virtual spaces in Math City 1.0 are designed to align with the different stages of the 5E Inquiry model (Bybee 2009). Collaborative activity using the GenAI tool is embedded in the exploration stage, and an authentic assessment is embedded in the evaluation stage.

The Exploration Lab in Math City is designed to facilitate collaborative activity among the students using the embedded GenAI tools. The teacher takes part in the guided inquiry process using GenAI tools.
